Diaz Wants Woodley At UFC 226

After Tyron Woodley made it known that he was interested in fighting Nate Diaz this summer, Diaz made it clear that its time to negotiate with the UFC.

While speaking with ESPN on Wednesday, Diaz said a fight with Woodley is something he wants, and that UFC 226 in Las Vegas on July 7th, is when he wants to do it.

”I’m getting to the point where I’m sick of not fighting. I’m not getting any younger,” Diaz said.

“I put that tweet out saying I wanted to fight in May or June, but I didn’t say who because I was weighing my options. And now, Woodley is my best option.”

Woodley hasn’t fought since defeating Demian Maia in a disappointing showing at UFC 214, which he and UFC President Dana White, feuded over.

The UFC expressed interest in booking the Woodley-Diaz fight in December, but Woodley opted to undergo shoulder surgery.

Diaz pointed at Woodley’s work with TMZ being a mitigating factor for why he wants the fight.

“I see him on TMZ every week, talking about me. I’m like, ‘What the f*ck? If that’s what you want to do.’ It’s not really my weight class, but I’m with it,” Diaz said.

Woodley acts as co-host of TMZ’s Hollywood Beatdown which focuses on the world of MMA gossip.
