DiBella Entertainment Outbids Matchroom Boxing For Joshua Buatsi Vs. Jean Pascal
Eddie Hearn was outbid.
DiBella Entertainment won the rights to the IBF heavyweight title eliminator between Joshua Buatsi and Jean Pascal at Tuesday’s purse bid with $975,000, ESPN reported. Matchroom Boxing, which promotes Buatsi, bid $875,000.
According to Dan Rafael, DiBella plans to air the fight on BT Sport in the U.K.
Buatsi had to go through with the ordered eliminator after the IBF denied Hearn and WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol to skip Gilberto Ramirez for Buatsi.
Buatsi has gone undefeated in all of his 16 fights.
Pascal has lost just six out of his 42 pro fights. He is on a three-fight winning streak including Fanlong Meng, Badou Jack and Marcus Browne.
He suffered his sixth pro loss when he encountered Bivol in November 2018 and lost by unanimous decision.
The winner will be the mandatory challenger to Artur Beterbiev’s world title.
