DiBella: Joshua Is Afraid Of Wilder
The promoter for Deontay Wilder, Lou DiBella was not a fan of Anthony Joshua’s performance this past weekend against Joseph Parker.
While on Sirius-XM’s At The Fights, DiBella claimed the issues surrounding Joshua’s glove were intentional to help him recover from Parker’s punches.
Does @loudibella think Anthony Joshua is afraid to fight Deontay Wilder? “Justifiably.” Did Lou lose a degree of respect for Joshua during the #JoshuaParker fight? He explains to @CommishRandyG & @gerrycooney why the answer is yes. #boxing pic.twitter.com/CxhOvqGY29

When asked if Joshua is afraid of WBC world champion Anthony Joshua, DiBella claimed that, “I think when everyone around you is afraid, it’s gonna make you think too.”
“Do I think he’s afraid? Justifiably. I gotta be honest with you… even though he clearly won the fight, I saw a guy that clearly didn’t want to take a risk. I saw a guy who didn’t want to engage.”
“I didn’t see Anthony Joshua taking any chances in that fight at all. And in fact, I saw Anthony Joshua get buzzed by Joseph Parker and then pull his own tape off his glove to create his own timeout, and I gotta be honest with you, that made me lose a little bit of respect,” he added.
Now, with Wilder accepting the challenge to come to London, and fight Joshua; many are left wondering what may be next, as both fighters have claimed they’re ready to go to the negotiating table.
