Diego Pacheco Wants Canelo After Stopping Maciej Sulecki

Diego Pacheco is ready to face Canelo Alvarez following his win over Maciej Sulecki.

Pacheco stopped his man in round six with a body shot, taking his record to 22-0. That was his 18th knockout, showing he is becoming one of the next-best Mexican stars at 168. But he did have to overcome some hurdles early on in this fight. The Mexican was hit more than usual, raising question marks over his defense

Canelo would punish Pacheco for similar mistakes, as Alvarez is known for walking his opponents down before landing wide hooks to the body. But the win made Pacheco the WBO mandatory for Canelo, meaning he has a title shot against the winner of Canelo-Berlanga once the mandatory is called.

“The body shot, and that’s all she wrote. When I saw him fall, I could tell he wasn’t getting up. I could tell he was feeling my punches. I could see that he was slowing down from the fourth or fifth round. Definitely. I don’t back down from any challenge. Let’s get it on,” Pacheco said
