Whyte, a British boxer, is currently the WBC interim champion and he’s defending it against Wallin.
But first, the WBC will allow the winner of Fury-Wilder to negotiate a fight with Oleksandr Usyk, the WBA, IBF and WBO champion. But Usyk is contracted for an obligated rematch with Anthony Joshua, so he won’t be able to face anyone else any time soon.
This opens the door for Whyte.
Dillian Whyte will get his world title chance if be beats Otto Wallin. The WBC will give the winner of this weekend’s fight 30 days to negotiate the undisputed fight but Usyk is contracted to a Joshua rematch. The WBC will then order the winner to face the interim champion.
