Dillian Whyte To Get Title Shot If He Wins Next Fight, According To WBC

Dillian Whyte is just one win away from securing his chance to capture a shot at the world title.

Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) must first overcome Otto Wallin (22-1, 14 KOs) in his fight later this month on October 30 at the O2 Arena in London. The WBC is forcing the winner of Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder III to face the interim champion, The Daily Star reported.

Whyte, a British boxer, is currently the WBC interim champion and he’s defending it against Wallin.

But first, the WBC will allow the winner of Fury-Wilder to negotiate a fight with Oleksandr Usyk, the WBA, IBF and WBO champion. But Usyk is contracted for an obligated rematch with Anthony Joshua, so he won’t be able to face anyone else any time soon.

This opens the door for Whyte.
