Dillian Whyte Will Face Otto Wallin On October 30 In London

Dillian Whyte is returning to the ring to defend his interim title, but it isn’t against Andy Ruiz or Chris Arreola.

Whyte is instead making his WBC interim world heavyweight title defense against Otto Wallin on October 30 at the O2 Arena in London. DAZN will stream the main event.

Whyte initially lost to Alexander Povetkin in the vacant WBC interim world heavyweight bout in August 2020, but he avenged the knockout loss and TKO’d Povetkin in the fourth round in March to regain the interim belt.

Tyson Fury is the current WBC world heavyweight champion and a win for Whyte could mean a step closer to the king. Fury is scheduled for a trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder on October 9.

Meanwhile, a win for Wallin could mean a step closer to a rematch with Fury – who handed him his sole loss – or a matchup with Wilder.

Wallin is coming off two wins against Dominic Breazeale and Travis Kauffman via unanimous decision and TKO, respectively.

Wallin had signed paperwork to face Whyte on Wednesday, Dan Rafael reported.
