Dinu Protests Pulev Loss

Bogdan Dinu and his team have filed a “Petition for Change of Decision” on Wednesday with the California State Athletic Commission over the result of March 23rd’s fight with Kubrat Pulev.

Pulev knocked out Dinu in the seventh round of their heavyweight main event in Costa mesa, California, but Greg Cohen, Dinu’s promoter, cited repeated rabbit punches, and a intentionally flagrant foul while Dinu should have been considered defenseless.

Pulev was penalized a point by the referee for the aforementioned foul, and Dinu would then be dropped twice by what Cohen calls illegal punches on the back of his Dinu’s head, which lead to the stop of the fight.

A hearing has been set for May 14th to hear Cohen’s case.
