Dirrell vs. Uzcategui Ends in Mayhem
The undercard for Gary Russell Jr. vs. Oscar Escandon saw Rances Barthelemy earn a controversial decision win over Kiryl Relikh in a WBA super lightweight eliminator. No one thought things could get more controversial.
But then, things got even more out of control in the co-main event.

The uncle of fighter Andre Dirrell is wanted by Maryland police for an assault on Dirrell’s IBF super middleweight championship opponent, Jose Uzcategui.
Andre Dirrell was facing off with Uzcategui when Dirrell was nailed with a punch after the bell in the eighth round, knocking Dirrell unconscious. As this was the second time Uzcategui was warned for such an offense, and Dirrell could not continue, Dirrell was given the win and title by disqualification.
But while Dirrell would forgive his opponent for the blow, his family and cornermen weren’t so willing to turn the other cheek, as the footage shows.
Dirrell’s brother, Anthony, who is also a boxer, may be sought after as well pending a review of the footage and surveillance cameras.
