Disturbing Allegations Appear During Cain Velasquez Hearing
Velasquez was in custody since February.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is regularly appearing on the court. He is on the verge of facing 20 years of prison if found guilty of a murder crime.
Velasquez was recently granted bail and left the jail early Wednesday morning. He was in the custody of the police since February and has been denied bail several times by the court. However, more accusations have been revealed during the court hearing.
The American has been accused of an assassination attempt off Harry Goularte near San Jose, CA. Paul Bender, Goularte’s stepfather, received a gunshot during his chase against Velasquez.
The pretrial hearing for the 40-year-old began on Monday. Witnesses, involving several police officers, were asked questions by the prosecution and defense.
There was one shocking moment during the investigation when Velasquez’s attorney, Mark Geragos, cross-examined police officer Nathaniel Rodriguez.
Once the American told Rodriguez about the alleged molestation of his son, the police officer revealed that Velasquez’s son was one of the main victims of Goularte.
Rodriguez proceeded by stating that the 40-year-old was cooperative and respectful while being in the custody of the police.
Moving onto Goularte’s trial, a civil lawsuit has been filed against him on behalf of the American’s son. The lawsuit also highlights Bender and Goularte’s mother, who was operating the daycare where the alleged abuse happened.
Goularte will appear in court for his child’s molestation case on November 14.
