Does The UFC Have A Plan For Kevin Holland?

After putting in the work for his fight last week at UFC on ESPN+ 31, Kevin Holland was crushed to find out that he was no longer going to be competing just a few minutes before showtime. Now, he will only need to wait a few more days to compete inside the octagon.

MMA Junkie is reporting that Holland will be fighting this weekend, August 8 for UFC on ESPN+ 32. He will be facing off against Joaquin Buckley, who just competed at LFA 87 this past Friday.

Holland (17-5) joined the UFC in 2018 after stints with Bellator and LFA. Debuting on Dana White’s Contender Series, Holland has gone 6-2 in his total run with the promotion. He avenged a submission loss to Brendan Allen back in October by beating Anthony Hernandez via TKO back in May.

“Trail Blazer” was supposed to fight Trevin Giles to open up the UFC on ESPN+ 31 card, but Giles was removed after fainting before coming out for the fight. According to reports, Holland received “some” show money.

Buckley (10-2) made his professional debut in 2014. Fighting for Shamrock FC and Bellator, Buckley’s last two fights were for LFA. He beat Chris Harris via TKO in September and just did the same to Jackie Gash at LFA 87 on July 31.

UFC on ESPN+ 32 takes place inside the APEX Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be Derrick Lewis v. Aleksei Oleinik in a heavyweight bout.
