Donald Trump’s Praise For Khabib Nurmagomedov Following UFC 302 Interaction

Following their friendly interaction at UFC 302, Donald Trump took to social media to express his appreciation for Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The undefeated former lightweight champion and 45th President of the United States were both in attendance in Newark, NJ, earlier this month. Trump was making a massive public appearance that many were surprised by given his recent convictions. Meanwhile, Khabib was there to corner his lifelong friend and training partner Islam Makhachev, who managed to submit Dustin Poirier in the 5th round of their main event contest to retain his 155-pound belt.

A brief interaction between Khabib and Trump took place during the event, in which the former Russian fighter can audibly being heard asking for Trump’s help with the Israel-Palestine conflict. Trump responded positively in person, then complimented “The Eagle” publically on his social media account.

“Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired after a RECORD of 29-0, never having lost even a single round, is probably the Greatest Fighter of All Time,” Trump said of Nurmagomedov. “I met him at the UFC event on Saturday night in New Jersey. A really smart guy – Big things in the future for Khabib!”

Khabib retired following his 29th victory, over Justin Gaethje in 2020. Since then, he has focused his efforts on coaching and developing the next generation of Russian fighters behind the scenes.
