‘Don’t Blink During This One’: Amanda Serrano On Yamileth Mercado Fight
Unified WBC/WBO featherweight world champion Amanda Serrano plans to knock out super bantamweight world champion Yamileth Mercado in a jiffy when they box next weekend.
The female boxing champions will clash on the SHOWTIME PPV event that will be headlined by Jake Paul versus Tyron Woodley. The bout will happen on Sunday, August 29 at the Rocket Mortgage Field House in Ohio.
“Don’t blink during this one, because even though she’s a tough fighter with a lot of heart, this could be a short fight,” Serrano said. “I give her a lot of credit for accepting this fight right away. I know that I’m facing a tough Mexican fighter, but I’ll beat her at her own game!”
Serrano said she’s excited to be part of the event because it “means a lot” to women’s boxing and to be able to perform in the ring.
“We deserve to be in the spotlight. I’ll perform like I always do and represent for women’s boxing the best way I know how,” Serrano said.

The Puerto Rican has assured her fans of wreaking havoc on Sunday.
“Expect this to be a war, because I always bring the fireworks. I have a fan-friendly style and I’m going out there to finish my opponent. That’s what the fans want to see,” Serrano added.
