Leon Edwards was losing heading into the final round against Kamaru Usman on Saturday.
The British boxer initially trailed 3-1 on the scorecard but was able to comeback and record a fifth-round head kick knockout win in UFC 278’s main event. He had finally earned himself the undisputed welterweight title.
Edwards’ staff was heavily involved, and it was almost as if they were fighting with their man in a tag-team match.
Longtime MMA correspondent Ariel Helwani shared a video of Edwards corner before the knockout – and it went viral.

“Come on Leon, it’s one-one, come on,” One of his coaches said during one of the round breaks. “Don’t make him bully you, Leon!”
As the fight progressed and Usman tried to take control of the situation, Edwards’ coaches lashed out at their man to “get f–ng ugly out there.”
“You’re two down. Come on, you’re letting him control you too much, son. You gotta get your hands going, Leon. You gotta get your hands going!”
Once the fourth round was over, the intensity only increased as one of Edwards’ coaches was saying “stop feeling sorry for your f–ng self!”
Edwards became the first Jamaican and second England-based athlete to win the belt.
