Daniel Dubois is in talks to challenge WBO Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley in what would be Wardley’s first title defense.
After Wardley was elevated to full champion status following Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to vacate the WBO belt, Dubois has wasted no time in making his intentions clear. The former IBF heavyweight champion took to social media to urge the champion to “sign the contract” as he looks for his next fight. While Wardley is coming off a stoppage win over Joseph Parker last October, Dubois has not boxed since his own stoppage defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last July. That ended a run which covered wins over Jarrell Miller, FIlip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua. Now reunited with trainer Don Charles, Dubois and his manager Sam Jones are actively calling for the fight to be made.
“Let’s go Fabio Wardley. Sign the contract, let’s get it on,” Dubois
“We are ready to go it’s over to Fabio and his team. But we are good to go What a fight for the fans this will be,” Jones said
