Queensberry Promotions has announced three cards to close out the year, headlined by the WBO heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs) and Fabio Wardley (20-1-1, 19 KOs) on October 17 at The O2 in London.
The rematch comes five months after Dubois stopped Wardley in the 11th round of their first fight on May 9 in Manchester to win the WBO heavyweight title.
“It’ll be another dominant victory and amazing performance. I can’t wait. Yeah. Let’s get it on. When you get in the water, you’re gonna get wet. I love every bit of it. I can’t wait for it,” Dubois said.
Wardley activated his immediate rematch clause following the defeat and will now attempt to reclaim the title in London.
“The O2 is like a home away from home for me, so doing the fight back here will be special. It’s going to be a rematch, and it’s going to be revenge. I’ve proven time and time again, you look at [my fights] with Frazer Clarke, the adjustments I made, or the Justis Huni performance into the Joseph Parker performance. I’ve proven I’m adaptable and I can change,” Wardley said.
