Easter vs. Barthelemy Set for April 27

Former world champions Robert Easter Jr. and Rances Barthelemy will meet with the vacant WBA “World” Lightweight Title on the line as the headline bout of an April 27 Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) event.

The previously unbeaten Easter Jr. won the then-vacant IBF title back in September 2016 with a split decision win over Richard Commey. He defended the title three times against Luis Cruz, Denis Shafikov and Javier Fortuna before losing a WBC/IBF title unification match to Mikey Garcia back in July.

Barthelemy won the IBF Super Featherweight Title back in July 2014 and made one defense later that year before moving up to lightweight. He won the then-vacant IBF title in December 2015 with a unanimous decision over Denis Shafikov and made one defense six months later before moving up again to super lightweight. Barthelemy won a WBA title eliminator over Kiryl Relikh by decision, but he lost a rematch with the vacant title on the line by decision. Barthelemy returned to the ring back in December, scoring a third-round finish of Robert Frankel.

The April 27 PBC event will also feature a WBC super lightweight title eliminator in the co-main event, featuring former champion Viktor Postol and Mohamed Mimoune. Heavyweight Efe Ajagba will also compete, taking on Michael Wallisch.

The card will take place at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
