Eddie Alvarez Parts With ONE Championship, Is Free Agent Again

Former UFC lightweight champion, Alvarez, is no longer member of ONE Championship. His multi-fight contract is over, and now Alvarez is looking for a new promotion to continue his career.

“Confirmed, I am no longer with ONE,” Alvarez wrote.

“We parted ways amicably and I remain on good terms with the ONE team. I want to thank Chatri [Sityodtong] for the opportunity and I look forward to watching their continued success. I’m officially a free agent and ready to hunt. Tell me who’s next?”

Alvarez was a top fighter in the UFC, who defeated Anthony Pettis, dethroned Rafael Dos Anjos, and also knocked out former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.

He also had great battles with former Bellator champion and UFC title challenger Michael Chandler and earned the victory in their rematch.

In ONE, he suffered a first-round TKO loss in his debut against Timofey Nastyukhin, but bounced back in his second bout against Eduard Folayang with first-round submission.

That was his last win.

In his latest bout, he faced Rae Yoon Ok and suffered a unanimous decision loss.
