Eddie Hearn: Anthony Joshua Vs. Oleksandr Usyk Rematch Scheduled On July 23

The rematch between Anthony Joshua (24-2) and Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) will be announced by the end of next week. The expected date for the rematch is July 23 in the Middle East, according to the boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Joshua wished that the rematch would take place in the UK, but Usyk has other plans. The Ukrainian believes that the rematch should take place in a location that generates the most amount of money.

The Joshua-Usyk rematch will reportedly be heading to the Middle East.

“July 23 isn’t a concrete date, but there are huge chances that you will see the fight being scheduled for that date,” Hearn said to iFL TV.

“There were so many offers for us on the table regarding this match. We have looked at each and every one of those offers individually. Now, we are closing on our decision about the location of the rematch,” Hearn added.

“Team Usyk is massively in favor of the Middle East location because it generates a lot of money. Even though money is a massive talking point, team Usyk would like the location to be a neutral venue. I don’t blame them at all for that, and this is the situation we are in,” Hearn concluded.
