Eddie Hearn Brands Oscar De La Hoya An ‘Idiot’
Eddie Hearn has slammed Oscar De La Hoya over his comments about him and Edgar Berlanga.
In the aftermath of Berlanga’s win over Jason Quigley, the former expressed the idea of wanting to face Golden Boy’s Jamie Munguia.
“I feel like that’s the biggest fight right now. I want him in October in the big house in Madison Square Garden. I know that’s the fight that everybody wants to see.
“I want that mother f***er. He’s Mexican, I’m Puerto Rican. I’ve got the man here [Eddie Hearn]. He’s the best promoter. I know he’s going to make it happen,” Berlanga
And Hearn followed up those comments by expressing his intention to get the Mungia fight done. Such a fight would hypothetically be easy to make given that Golden Boy do collaborate with DAZN.
While that may have been the case, De La Hoya has been trading shots at Hearn. This has been in response to Canelo Alvarez signing a three-fight deal with the PBC and then De La Hoya’s reaction to Berlanga’s career at this moment.

With that being said, Hearn has now hit back at the promoter.
“Oscar De La Hoya works for DAZN. He’s a f—–’ complete idiot. His job is to put on good fights with DAZN and he hasn’t really done that with Jaime Munguia. It’s probably the worst managed career I’ve ever seen in the history of boxing.”
