Eddie Hearn Invites Tyson Fury To Attend Joshua vs. Pulev
Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has extended an invitation to Tyson Fury.
On December 12, Anthony Joshua will defend the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Titles against Kubrat Pulev. The title fight will be held inside the SSE Arena, Wembley in London, England. Fans will be allowed in attendance at a reduced capacity of 1,000.
Fury and Joshua have agreed in principle to two fights. Joshua must first handle business against Pulev. Fury also plans to return to the ring in early 2021, so he’ll also need to get past whoever he fights beforehand.
During an interview with Sky Sports, Hearn said that Fury is invited to attend Joshua vs. Pulev.
“I think that he should be coming. If he wants to fight Anthony Joshua, it’s not a case of calling him out, it’s called doing his research and building the fight. Tyson Fury is more than welcome to come down. I only live 45 minutes away from Wembley. He can come around on Sunday afternoon for a roast as well, if he wants and a cuppa. We just want to get that fight made. But first things first, we’ve seen it before at Madison Square Garden with Andy Ruiz when we were talking about the Wilder fight. This is it. This is the last hurdle – Kubrat Pulev, December 12.”
When Joshua meets Pulev, it’ll be his first fight in a year. He hasn’t competed since December 2019 when he avenged his loss against Andy Ruiz. Joshua scored a one-sided unanimous decision victory to reclaim all of his gold.
Fury last fought back in February. He took on Deontay Wilder in a rematch. “The Gypsy King” became the WBC Heavyweight Champion when he stopped Wilder in the seventh round via TKO.
