Eddie Hearn Makes Bold Prediction For Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury

Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has quite the prediction for Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury.

Joshua and Fury have agreed in principle to a fight. Joshua is the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion. Fury holds the WBC Heavyweight Title. Fans have been clamoring for a title unification bout but there are some hurdles in the way.

Joshua is set to put his gold on the line against Kubrat Pulev on December 12. Fury is expected to clash with Deontay Wilder a third time on December 19. If both Joshua and Fury emerge victorious, there’s still the issue of the WBO mandatory situation as well as what will transpire after Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte II for the interim WBC Heavyweight Title.

Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn expressed his belief that if the fight comes to fruition, Joshua will knock Fury out.

“Is there a bigger fight in world boxing? Absolutely not. How much money are in these two fights? Hundreds of millions of dollars. So you can’t have it one way. One minute I’m a money-grabbing asshole and then the other hand, I don’t want the fight. Please, come on. What do you think I want? I want the money and the glory and the success. And all three of those come from that fight, cause he will knock Tyson Fury out.”

Fury is undefeated in his pro boxing career with a record of 30-0-1. “The Gypsy King” is coming off a seventh-round TKO victory over Deontay Wilder in their rematch.

Joshua is fresh off a rematch of his own. He avenged his stunning TKO loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. Joshua earned a one-sided unanimous decision victory in his second outing with Ruiz on December 7, 2019.
