Eddie Hearn Reacts To Deontay Wilder’s Rant On Tyson Fury
Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn is aware of Deontay Wilder’s rant and he’s offered a response.
Wilder recently took to social media to give his take on Tyson Fury’s plan to move on from a trilogy fight. Fury is looking to put his WBC Heavyweight Title on the line against Agit Kabayel or Carlos Takam on December 5. Fury’s team has claimed that the rematch clause has expired.
During Wilder’s video rant, “The Bronze Bomber” accused Fury of cheating during their rematch. Wilder claims Fury loaded his gloves. Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn blasted Wilder for making excuses (via Bad Left Hook).
“It’s ridiculous. Park him to the side, let the big boys, the real men go at it, yeah? Usyk-Chisora, Dillian Whyte against Povetkin, AJ. Look at Dillian Whyte. He got knocked out and he was winning the fight, and he never moaned once. He got up, he dusted himself down, he goes straight back to work. Proper geezers. AJ against Andy Ruiz in front of 20,000 people at Madison Square Garden. It was so difficult for him to dust — but that’s what you do, that’s what champions do!
“You don’t moan, you don’t say, ‘Oh, this glove, and’ — unless you’ve got any real substance, then be quiet, go back to the drawing board, work harder, follow your dreams, let the hunger burn to become champion again.
“It’s gone from the costume to now he’s being found out about AJ, to now it’s something about the glove. It’s getting worse and worse.”
Hearn has said that he feels Wilder may have isolated himself from the heavyweight title picture until 2022. Fury and Anthony Joshua plan to have a title unification bout at some point in 2021 with a rematch to follow. Joshua holds the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Titles. He’s set to put all of his gold on the line against Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
