Eddie Hearn Reveals Anthony Joshua’s Plan B In December
British sports promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed Anthony Joshua’s backup options for his fight in December. This will only be considered if the 32-year-old is unable to agree on a fight with Tyson Fury.
“He wouldn’t want a soft touch. I think that would work against him,” said Eddie Hearn to the DAZN Boxing Show.
“It’s a top 10 guy; you could pull him out of the rankings yourself. As soon as I start mentioning names, the price goes up. The last thing AJ wants is a ‘gimme’ fight.”
Hearn has stated that he wants a top-15 category athlete as Joshua’s opponent rather than any random fighter. The three names that Hearn listed are Filip Hrgovic, Zhilei Zhang, and Otto Wallin.
“Dillian is a very good fighter; he’s a dangerous fighter. I would like to give Dillian a fight in November, and then I’d like to make the AJ fight subject to the Tyson Fury stuff.
He went on to say Joshua, with a fight every three months and his confidence up, would be a tough man to beat. Hearn stated he spoke to Joshua, who gave a clear message.
‘If [Fury is] serious, let’s do it.”
