Eddie Hearn Says He’s Opened Negotiations For World Heavyweight Title Fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed he has opened negotiations to match Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (28-1-2, 22 KOs) against WBA heavyweight champion Murat Gassiev (34-2, 27 KOs), giving the 38 years old a shot a world title late in his career.

“There’s a little bit of confusion with the WBA. I mean, Gassiev’s the champion. He’s got to fight Jarrell Miller, our guy, which we’re negotiating at the moment,” Hearn

Miller’s last shot at a title, a 2019 bout with Anthony Joshua, was scrapped after he failed multiple drug tests. Ever since he’s rebuilt his career and yet remains a tough matchup due to his size and pressure. Gassiev’s heavyweight run has been slower than his cruiserweight reign, with health issues and layoffs limiting his progress since moving up.

Hearn is already eyeing what’s next if Miller wins.

“Hopefully Jarrell Miller can beat Gassiev. We can do Miller against Kabayel. There’s loads of fights to be made,” Hearn
