Eddie Hearn Says Who Jake Paul Is Fighting In August
It’s still a rumor, but promoter Eddie Hearn said he knows who Jake Paul is fighting next.
Hearn revealed in a recent interview that he heard Paul is going to face someone he was supposed to take on earlier – Tommy Fury.
“I don’t represent them, but I hear that fight [Paul vs Fury] is happening Aug. 13, so you might see it,” Hearn told TalkSPORT.
“Both are very limited, but as long as it’s a competitive fight, it doesn’t really matter.”
Paul and Fury were originally matched up in December, but Fury – the half-brother of Tyson Fury – withdrew at the last minute due to an injury.
Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley stepped in as a last-minute replacement, setting up an unexpected rematch, which saw Woodley get knocked out in the sixth round.
Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, announced that he was returning to the ring in August, but he hasn’t publicly named his opponent.
Paul was tied up with a few other names in the last month. Some rumors said he was going to fight former UFC champion Michael Bisping after a short public feud.
Other rumors said he was going to face Anderson Silva, who has found much success in boxing following a successful MMA career.
Hearn and Paul interacted a lot with one another following the Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano fight in April. Taylor, who Hearn promotes, defeated Serrano, who Paul promotes.
