Edgar Berlanga Wants To Set The Bar High on Fury-Wilder Fight Night

Edgar Berlanga hasn’t yet headlined a boxing night in his brief pro career.

But Berlanga said he wishes to light up the T-Mobile Arena when he headlines the preliminary undercard for Tyson Fury versus Deontay Wilder III, preceding the PPV portion of the show.

The 24-year-old boxing prodigy has a knack for walking his talks, backed by his undefeated career.
With 16 of 17 fights won via knockout, Berlanga is the favorite to beat former title challenger Marcelo Esteban Coceres (30-2-1, 16KOs) on October 9.

Speaking about the event, the boxer foresaw himself as the best performer.

“I’m not on the Pay-Per-View [this] weekend but I’ll still be the star of the show. I’m trying to be that light, I’m trying to be that showstopper,” Berlanga said in a recent interview.

“By the time they get to the Fury-Wilder fight on Pay-Per-View, they’re gonna be like ‘Wow, Edgar Berlanga did his thing. He had another tremendous KO. My fight’s what they’re gonna be talking about.”
The boxer wants to make his family and friends proud of his performance regardless of who the main event is.

“The idea is to look good here like I always do and then head back to my city,” Berlanga continued. “I’m going to be a co-main event there but still the main event as far as my fans back home are concerned.”
