Edwards Told No By UFC
Leon Edwards was rumored to be in training to face Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz in case the main event of UFC 244 ended up falling out.
Now in the wake of Nate Diaz possibly out of the fight due to his issues with the result of a USADA drug test on Thursday night, Edwards was propped up as the next in line for Masvidal due to a run-in they had backstage at UFC London earlier this year.
So.. About that.
Bad news Regarding Nate, I did offer when the fight was made to stay ready but the UFC unfortunately said no. So I won't be making the trip to NYC. But I will be ready for December 14th

“Bad news regarding Nate,” Edwards said early Friday morning on Twitter.
“I did offer when the fight was made to stay ready but the UFC, unfortunately, said no. So I won’t be making the trip to NYC. But I will be ready for December 14th.”
With Diaz still technically in the fight per the latest reporting, one can only wonder what’s gonna happen next in the wildest main event situation since UFC 229, at least this one has not seen a handtruck go through a bus… yet.
