Elkins-Landwehr Reportedly Set For May 16 UFC Card

Two fighters will be looking to get back into the win column in The Sunshine State.

According to MMA Junkie, Darren Elkins and Nate Landwehr will be competing in a featherweight bout at the unnamed May 16 UFC event.

This is a must-win bout for Elkins (24-8) as he is currently on a three-fight losing streak. “The Damage” last won in January 2018, when he beat Michael Johnson via submission. He was riding a six-fight win streak before losing to current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski in July 2018 via unanimous decision.

Since then, Elkins has lost to Ricardo Lamas via TKO and Ryan Hall via unanimous decision. The Hall fight was last July, giving him a long break between bouts.

In his UFC debut back in January, Landwehr (13-3) lost to Herbert Burns via knockout. Before that, the 31-year-old was on a seven-fight win streak going from 2016-2019. He primarily fought for M-1 Global during that time.

All fights will be taking place inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The event will be right after UFC 249 on May 9.
