Errol Spence Jr. Doubles Down On Disinterest Fighting Keith Thurman
Errol Spence Jr. remains uninterested in fighting Keith Thurman.
Spence is the WBC and IBF Welterweight Champion. He is set to put his gold on the line against Danny Garcia on December 5. Spence has expressed interest in fighting top 147-pounders including Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford if he can defeat Garcia. Thurman is another story.
Spence has made it clear that he isn’t chummy with “One Time.” He’s even gone as far as to say “f*ck Keith Thurman.”
Speaking to The Athletic, Spence explained why he doesn’t want to share the ring with Thurman anytime soon (h/t Bad Left Hook).

“Nah, man. He can chill where he at. I don’t know where he at but he can chill. On a serious note, though, I really don’t care to fight him at all. It’s funny how he wants to fight me so bad now but when I wanted to fight him I was this ‘young boy,’ this and that, this and that.
“You know, it’s kind of ironic. Like I always said on Twitter, ‘tables turn, you live and you learn.’”
Thurman hasn’t competed since losing the WBA (Super) Welterweight Title to Manny Pacquiao back in July 2019. This was the first loss in Thurman’s pro boxing career. Thurman’s next move is unclear but he has expressed mutual interest in a clash with WBA (Regular) Welterweight Champion Yordenis Ugas.
You can catch Spence vs. Garcia live on PBC on FOX PPV and on FIGHT SPORTS in over 30 countries worldwide.
