Errol Spence Jr. Excited to Return In Front Of Hometown Fans
Errol Spence Jr. is expressing his excitement over fighting in front of his hometown fans.
Spence will put his WBC and IBF Welterweight Titles on the line against Danny Garcia. The title fight will take place inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on December 5. This will be Spence’s first bout following his October 10, 2019 car crash in Dallas.
Boxing events in front of live crowds have been scarce during the COVID-19 pandemic but Spence is happy that he’ll be able to return in front of a live crowd. Here’s what he said during a press release.
“Having my comeback fight be in front of my hometown fans at AT&T Stadium is added motivation and a dream come true. It means even more because I’m going up against a great champion in Danny Garcia. I know people are looking out to see if I’ve lost a step or won’t be at my best, but I’m 100% focused, and everything is on point in training camp. I just can’t wait to go out there on December. 5 and put on a show.”
Spence’s last outing was a barn burner against Shawn Porter back on September 28, 2019. Spence won the fight via split decision, capturing the WBC gold in the process. The victory improved his already-perfect pro boxing record to 26-0.
Garcia is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ivan Redkach back on January 25. It was Garcia’s second win in a row as he had beaten Adrian Granados via seventh-round TKO back on August 20, 2019.
