Errol Spence Jr. Is Sizable Betting Favorite Against Manny Pacquiao

The early betting odds for Errol Spence Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao are in.

Fight fans were taken by surprise with the announcement of Spence vs. Pacquiao. “PacMan” made the announcement on social media and PBC followed up with a confirmation. Spence holds the WBC and IBF Welterweight Titles, while Pacquiao is recognized as the WBA “Champion in Recess.” Spence vs. Pacquiao will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 21.

Spence is the sizable betting favorite according to BetOnline.ag. He sits at -450, while Pacquiao is +350. If the numbers hold up, then it would be the first time that Pacquiao has entered a fight as an underdog since his 2015 showdown with Floyd Mayweather.

Despite being at the age of 42, many would consider Pacquiao to be a live underdog. After all, he did hand Keith Thurman his first pro boxing loss back in July 2019. The bout was ruled a split decision in favor of “PacMan,” but many agree that the one judge who scored the fight for Thurman got it wrong.

Spence was last seen in action back in December. He successfully defended his WBC and IBF gold against Danny Garcia. It was Spence’s fifth successful IBF title defense and first WBC title defense.
