Errol Spence Jr., Yordenis Ugas Confirm Plans For Springtime Showdown

Errol Spence vs Yordenis Ugas seems to be on the cards after months of speculations. The Cuban star earned his super fight after handing a decision loss to now-retired Manny Pacquiao.

Speaking to media while in attendance for a Pay-Per-View event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Ugas (27-4, 12KOs) confirmed that he will attempt to become the first three-belt titlist in nearly seven years, in spring.

“We are targeting March or April for the fight,” Ugas said. “It’s a fight for three titles. It’s a fight that we want and are targeting the springtime.”

On the flip side, Spence (27-0, 21KOs) had a more specific timeframe when he went live on Instagram recently with actor-cum-comedian Desi Banks.

“The fight’s in April,” the WBC and IBF titlist confirmed. “Man down, strap season. He already knows what time it is.”

Boxing fans have been voicing the showdown between these stars for a while now. At first, Pacquiao and Spence were in talks to fight as the Philippine legend was expected to beat Ugas.

But Ugas had other plans to raise his stocks. He outfoxed the boxing veteran and had the judges score the fight 115-113, 116-112, 116-112 in his favor following a boxing masterclass.
