Eubank Jr. Vs. Liam Smith Set For September 2nd, No Conor Benn Fight
Chris Eubank Jr. has confirmed that he will fight Liam Smith on September 2nd, 2023, putting an end to any hopes of a fight with Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr. has exercised his right to a rematch after suffering a fourth-round TKO in January against Smith.
Prior to that bout, Eubank had been on course to fight Benn at a 157 lb catchweight. However, Benn’s two positive tests for Clomiphene ended that bout as Smith stepped in.
Although there had been talks that Benn could fight Eubank Jr. in Abu Dhabi, those conversations have now ended with Smith being confirmed as the opponent.

As of now, a fight with Benn appears further away than ever. And until UKAD concludes their investigation into the boxer, Eubank’s main priority will be Smith.
But a spectacular performance against Smith could raise those conversations about Benn once again.
