Eubank vs Williams, Shields vs Kozin To Be Rescheduled For February 5

The Sky Sports doubleheader that features two big fights – Chris Eubank Jr. vs Liam Williams and Claressa Shields vs Ema Kozin – has been moved to February 5. The Welsh government hasn’t yet seconded it though.

The event will go down at Motorpoint Arena in Wales. It was originally planned for January 29, but then was pushed a week later. The move came following the suspension of boxing-related activities in the United Kingdom due to increasing COVID-19 cases.

The British Boxing Board of Control has, however, hinted at resuming the sports in February.

This is the second time the Williams-Eubank fight has been delayed. They were previously set to fight on December 11 but a shoulder injury to Williams pushed the fight to 2022.

This is William’s first appearance since April when he lost to WBO middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs) by unanimous decision in a 12-round bout.

Eubank is coming off a victory over Awdijan at Newcastle Arena. Officials declared it a technical knockout in the fifth round when Awdijan was hurt by a body shot and couldn’t continue.

As for Flint’s Shields (11-0, 2 KOs), she will make a strong case for a super fight against Savannah Marshall (11-0, 9 KOs) if she overwhelms Kozin. The February clash will take place with the IBF, WBA and WBC women’s middleweight titles on the line.
