Everything You Need to Know About Brandon Figueroa Vs. Mark Magsayo

Brandon Figueroa and Mark Magsayo are set to exchange blows on Saturday, March 4th, and boxing fans cannot wait for their blockbuster clash. The event will be held in Ontario, California and will be broadcast on Showtime.

Figueroa is the firm favorite to walk away with the win. This is mainly due to his last major win, where he knocked out Carlos Castro in his 126-pound debut last July.

The top-ranked featherweight bounced back from his majority-decision loss to Stephen Fulton in a 122-pound title-unification bout in 2021. Many experts believed that the controversial fight should have had Figueroa as the declared winner. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old American is poised to add another win to his resume.

The winner of the showdown will become the mandatory challenger to WBC 126-pound titleholder Rey Vargas.

Figueroa is known as a swarming volume puncher who has a knack for wearing his opponents down by not letting them have any room to breathe.

As for No. 2 Magsayo, he registered a critical victory in January of last year when he beat Gary Russell Jr. to win the WBC belt. However, the Filipino star lost his title in July 2022 when Vargas fetched a split-decision win. This was Magsayo’s first defense.

Magsayo is known for his offensive mindset, which is why almost every fight he has featured in produces entertainment.
