Eye Undergoes Successful Elbow Surgery

One of the top female fighters in the UFC will be taking some time off following a surgery that was long overdue. Jessica Eye took to social media to announce she went under the knife to repair elbow issues that have been bothering her for a while.

The former Flyweight Championship contender stated she will be out of action for about four weeks.

“Heys guys, Update surgery went great!! I Had a little work done on my elbow that’s long over due . I will be back in the gym working on Monday like always and working hard to be a better me 🦄 thanks for all the love 💘 #eyebelieve”

Ranked number one in the women’s flyweight rankings, Eye (15-7) won her last bout against Viviane Araujo via unanimous decision at UFC 245 in December. It was a rebound-win following a knockout-loss to UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 238 in June. That was her first time fighting for a title.

The 33-year-old is 4-1 in her last five fights after recovering from a four-fight losing streak that spanned from 2015-2016.
