Fabian Maidana Suffers Similar Eye Injury As Errol Spence, Withdraws From Fight Card
Errol Spence Jr. wasn’t the only boxer who reportedly suffered from an eye injury on Tuesday – just a little over a week before a stacked fight card in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fabian Maidana was set to fight Yordenis Ugás in the Spence-Manny Pacquiao undercard on August 21, but the boxer suffered a cut below his left eye in training on Monday.
A second photo showed Maidana with the cut stitched up.

Maidana, of Argentina, currently has a record of 18 wins and one loss with 13 knockouts.
Spence, who was set to head-to-head with Pacquiao in the main event, shocked the boxing world Tuesday with news that there’s a torn retina in his left eye. He withdrew from the fight, but assured that he’s “come back from worse.”
The American boxer asked to hold onto the title belt “a lil bit longer” for him.
Ugás instead steps in, and the original Ugás-Maidana undercard bout is now cancelled. The Cuban boxer will be defending his 147-pound welterweight title.
