Fabricio Andrey has secured three submission grappling victories since making his first walk to the ONE Championship circle in 2025, and now he will look to continue his run when he meets England’s Owen Jones later this month at ONE Fight Night 44.
ONE Fight Night 44 will go down live from inside the world-famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. The main event is set for a highly anticipated rematch between George Jarvis and Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong. In the pair’s first meeting in 2024, Jarvis got the better of the Thai favorite, and finished him with punches and elbows in the third round.
In Andrey’s most recent match, he squared off with the equally legendary Joao Mendes, which resulted in a win by unanimous decision. prior to that match, he secured victories over both Eduardo Granzotto and Ashley Williams. Meanwhile, Owen Jones will be in for a test in his first bout with ONE Championship. Despite being a promotional debutant, Jones is an extremely well-respected member of the competitive Jiu-Jitsu scene. He won the ADCC European Trials back in 2023, placed fourth in the ADCC world championships in 2024, and most recently secured the Polaris featherweight title earlier this year.
Jones was announced as a late replacement for 170-pound grappling champion Kade Ruotolo, who was originally slated to face Andrey until an injury forced him to the sideline in May.
