Klitschko retired back in 2017 when he suffered back-to-back defeats to WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and then four-belt champion Anthony Joshua.

Following his retirement, Klitschko did post photos of him helping fellow Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk prepare for his move to heavyweight to face Joshua. Usyk now claims all of Joshua’s title belts.

Also after his retirement, Klitschko said if he were to ever attempt a comeback to boxing, it would be in attempt to break George Foreman’s record as the oldest heavyweight champion in history.

Foreman was 45 and 229 days old when he made the history. Klitschko is now 45 years and 265 days old. He is turning 46 this coming March 25.

Klitschko also holds the record for the longest heavyweight title reign for 4,382 days or 12 years.
