FBI Reportedly Investigating Betting Irregularities Into The Shayilan Nuerdanbieke And Darrick Minner UFC Clash

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reportedly looking into the betting controversy involving the UFC clash between Shayilan Nuerdanbieke and Darrick Minner that transpired on November 5.

This is in addition to the organisations, (UFC), the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and U.S. Integrity, that have already initiated investigations into the betting irregularities surrounding the fight and into MMA coach James Krause.

As well as the probes into Krause and Minner, ESPN has also expressed that UFC flyweight Jeff Molina has been suspended by the NSAC. Molina was meant to have a fight at UFC Vegas 67 on January 14. However, he pulled out from the event at the start of December.

This wasn’t long after the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) suspended Krause, and the UFC announcing that those fighters who opted to work with Krause would not be able to take part in any UFC events until the government investigations had been concluded.

Molina has been linked to the investigation into the Nuerdanbieke vs Minner match-up due to the unusual wagering before the event and a possible violation of the rules about reporting injuries.

U.S. Integrity, the group responsible for examining questionable betting activity, notified sportsbooks that ahead of UFC Vegas 64, the odds of the fight shifted from Nuerdanbieke being a -220 favourite to a -420 favourite.

In addition, they noticed that bets were being placed on Nuerdanbieke to win by first-round knockout, despite the fact that he had no KO victories in his last three contests.

And yet, Nuerdanbieke emerged victorious in the fight by knockout after only 67 seconds of the initial round. During the short-lived match, Minner’s actions made many people think that he had a hidden injury before getting into the fight.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission is inspecting this part of the claim with things looking ominous overall.
