Ferguson Claims He’s Cleared For Competition

Following an injury suffered while doing media obligations for UFC 223, cancelling his highly anticipated lightweight unification fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson would be stripped of his title.

Even though Dana White steadfastly refuses to give Ferguson a fifth opportunity to face Nurmagomedov, following four cancellations, Ferguson has plugged ahead and was cleared to return to competition last week.

Ferguson would take to Twitter on Saturday to announce his progress and that he was cleared to compete by his doctors.

Ferguson has not fought since his submission victory over Kevin Lee at UFC 216, where he would win the interim UFC lightweight title, which would be stripped of him following his injury.
