Ferguson: “Khabib Can’t Box Out Of A Paper Bag”

Tony Ferguson refuses to think that there is any merit in Khabib Nurmagomedov pushing for a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather instead of fighting him for Nurmagomedov’s UFC lightweight title.

Ferguson would take to his social media on Tuesday and claim that Nurmagomedov and his team are “ducking” him and that Khabib couldn’t box his way out of a paper bag.

Ferguson and Khabib have been set to fight four times before Ferguson would claim the top contender spot at UFC 229 against Anthony Pettis.

The first was in December 2015, when Nurmagomedov would pull from their Ultimate Fighter Finale fight due to broken ribs. The next would be Ferguson pulling out with a Lung injury prior to UFC on FOX 19 in April 2016. Then UFC 209 for the interim lightweight title, but Khabib would be rushed to the hospital prior to weigh-ins, with the most recent being Ferguson suffering a freak knee injury prior to UFC 233 in April of 2018.
