Fernandez Wants To Limit Access At Pacquiao Camp
Buboy Fernandez is already looking to make some changes to Manny Pacquiao’s training camp.
In an interview with the Phil Star newspaper, Fernandez, who replaced Freddie Roach as Pacquiao’s trainer, wished that he could control one thing in his camp.
“The influx of people in the gym,” said Fernandez, following the camp moving to Manila from General Santos City this week.
“The difficulty is that (there) many people in the gym,” said Fernandez this week.
Pacquiao will continue his training camp in Manila after a two week stay at the Wild Card Gym in GenSan for his July 15 title showdown with Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur.
The move comes as the Filipino senate returns to session this week until June 1st, which would require Pacquiao to have his camp near his offices.
Senate will be on a longer break from June 2 to July 22, which would allow the former world champion to return to General Santos City and finish training there.
“I hope they understand that I have to limit the amount of guests , I will tell Manny to limit the guests to the gym,” claimed Fernandez, who looks to limit the influx of family members, business associates, friends and peers from entering the gym during training.
