Ferreira-Dober Reportedly Set For UFC Oklahoma City

Could the UFC’s return to Oklahoma City end in a new challenger for the Lightweight Title?  According to MMA Junkie, Drew Dober is set to face Diego Ferreira on May 2.

One of the top lightweights in the UFC today, Ferreira (17-2) is on a six-fight win streak. After two wins in 2019, Ferreira earned a Performance of the Night bonus against Anthony Pettis at UFC 246. He won the bout via submission, his seventh. A former Legacy FC Lightweight Champion, Ferreira is ranked 11th in the UFC’s lightweight rankings.

While not in the top 15, Drew Dober (22-9, 1 NC) is on a role of his own. The 31-year-old is on a two-fight win streak and is 5-1 in his last six. He is coming off of wins against Marco Polo Reyes and Nasrat Haqparast, the latter earning him a Performance of the Night bonus of his own.

UFC Oklahoma City takes place inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena. The scheduled main event is Jack Hermansson v. Chris Weidman in Weidman’s return to middleweight. The co-main event will be Claudia Gadelha v. Marina Rodriguez.
