Fight Removed From Miguel Berchelt vs. Oscar Valdez Card
One bout on the undercard of Miguel Berchelt vs. Oscar Valdez has been canceled.
Berchelt and Valdez are set to do battle inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The championship bout will be held on Saturday night, February 20. Berchelt’s WBC Super-Featherweight gold will be at stake. You can catch a live stream (or replay) of the weigh-ins here.
In the co-feature, Gabriel Flores Jr. will collide with Jayson Velez. There will also be undercard action. One of those bouts was supposed to showcase Bryan Lua vs. Frevian Gonzalez. That is no longer the case as the bout has been removed from the card.
Lua took to his Instagram account to reveal that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“I’m sorry to announce that my fight was canceled today because I tested positive for COVID. I am fine, I have no symptoms and my health is good. I was more than ready for my fight Saturday night and wanted to put on a show for you guys. Unfortunately, these things happen in these crazy times. I will keep you guys posted on my next fight date. Good luck to my teammates on Saturday and make sure to tune in to watch a great card.”
Lua was hoping to continue on his path as a prospect in the world of boxing. He has an unbeaten record of 7-0. This is also a tough break for Gonzalez, who is 4-0 and also considered to be a prospect at just 20 years old.
Berchelt vs. Valdez will be airing live on the major ESPN network and on FIGHT SPORTS in over 30 countries worldwide. Check your local listings for availability.
