FIGHT SPORTS Weekender: GLORY, Bellator, UFC, Bradley vs. Rios on tap!

This weekend is the type that fighting fans live for. There is action across almost every discipline starting Friday afternoon and going through almost the entire weekend.

GLORY 25 MILAN kicks off the weekend right at quitting time. The main card begins at 4 p.m. EST airing live on ESPN3 (with a replay at 1:30 a.m. on ESPN 2) from The PalaIper in Monza, Italy. The headline bout for GLORY 25 pits lightweight World Champion Robin “Pokerface” van Roosmalen (34-6-0, 19 KO) against GLORY 22 Contender Tournament winner Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong (99-27-5, 26 KO). The card also features the returning Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan (78-2-1, 35 KO) and 22-year-old rising star Josh Jauncey (23-5, 12 KO) as the co-headliner.

There will also be plenty of MMA action on Friday night – Bellator 145: Vengeance will be live from St. Louis, Missouri on Spike TV starting at 11 p.m. EST. The Bellator featherweight bout between Patricio "Pitbull" Freire and Daniel Straus is expected to be a tight bout. The undercard features some of the promotion’s top names – Will Brooks, Bobby Lashley, and Michael Chandler will all be in action.

Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort, wo of UFC’s most experienced, albeit past-their-prime, will also be in action on Friday night at UFC Fight Night 77 Sao Paulo. This is the third fight between Belfort and Henderson.

On Saturday night Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Brandon Rios will air live on HBO from Las Vegas, Nevada. Both fighters know that a win on Saturday could mean a showdown with Canelo Alvarez or Manny Pacquiao next. Also worth noting is that two Olympic gold medalists – Ryota Murata and Vasyl Lomachenko will fight on the undercard. Murata takes on Gunnar Jackson and Lomachenko takes on Romulo Koasicha.

Finally, the Kyushu Basho begins on Sunday in Japan.
