Fighting Words: What Does Johnriel Casimero Have To Say About Naoya Inoue?

Johnriel Casimero is taking aim at Naoya Inoue.

Casimero put his WBO Bantamweight Championship on the line against Duke Micah this past Saturday, September 26. Casimero retained his gold via third-round TKO. Going into the bout, Micah was undefeated.

Inoue is the WBA (Super) and IBF Champion. He’s set to defend his titles against Jason Moloney on October 31. That bout will headline a Top Rank Boxing card and it’ll be held inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following Casimero’s victory over Micah, he called out Inoue (h/t Bad Left Hook).

“I’m strong, man! Inoue! Come on, man!” Casimero barked. “You’re a monster, motherfucker?! You are no monster, you are a Japanese turtle, not a monster, man! Inoue is scared of me, fuck, motherfucker! Come on, man, you’re next!”

Inoue vs. Casimero was supposed to take place back in April. That plan went awry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Casimero has expressed his belief that he would’ve knocked out Inoue had they fought as scheduled. Inoue has a perfect pro boxing record of 19-0. He’s scored 16 knockouts along the way.

Time will tell if this bout will come to fruition if Inoue handles business against Maloney in late October.
