Pacquiao/Thurman Undercard Set
Figueroa/Ugas, Lipinets/Molina added to Pacquiao/Thurman Undercard
Showtime has added two more bouts to its stacked Manny Pacquiao v. Keith Thurman card on July 20th.
Omar Figueroa Jr. and Yordenis Ugas will face off in a WBC Welterweight TItle eliminator bout while Sergey Lipinets faces John Molina Jr. in another welterweight bout. The fighters join a card already with Luis Nery facing off against Juan Carlos Payano in a bantamweight bout. The PBC event takes place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
With 19 wins via knockout, Omar Figueroa Jr. (28-0-1), a WBC Lightweight Champion, is ready to show what he can do with elevated competition. He beat the aforementioned Molina Jr. in his last bout back in February via unanimous decision. The 29-year-old Figueroa has wins over names like Daniel Estrada, Ricky Burns and Robert Guerrero.
A former Welterweight Title contender, Ugas (23-4) is looking to get back into the win column following a split decision loss to Shawn Porter in March. On an eight-fight win streak before the loss (with four KO wins), Ugas has wins over Jamal James and Ray Robinson.
After losing to Mikey Garcia back in 2018, Lipinets (15-1) has won two in a row. He beat Erick Bone back in August and Lamont Peterson this past March. A former kickboxer, Lipinets is a former IBF Light-Welterweight Champion before losing it to Garcia.
Not one to deny a challenge, Molina Jr. (30-8) has been all over when it comes to weight. Prior to losing to Omar Figueroa Jr. in February, Molina beat Ivan Redkach via fourth-round knockout. It was a rebound fight after losing to Terence Crawford in 2016. He took a year off between those two fights. Molina has faced a number of well-known opponents, including one win against Ruslan Provodnikov and losses against Adrien Broner and Humberto Soto.
