Five Blockbuster Fights Fans Can’t Wait For Before Christmas
We have seen a lot of action in the ring this year featuring Oleksandr Usyk versus Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury versus Deontay Wilder, but the super fights are far from finished yet.
There are some more heavyweight showdowns set to happen before the year ends. On October 30, the Dillian Whyte versus Otto Wallin showdown will take place at the O2 Arena in London.
The WBC interim heavyweight champion will cash this fight to take on Tyson Fury in 2022. However, Wallin is a tough competitor who will not let Whyte cruise past him easily. He’s coming off a victory against Alexander Povetkin in their rematch in March.
The second big fight features Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant.
They’re scheduled to fight at the MGM Grand on November 6. They will go toe-to-toe for the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBF and The Ring super middleweight titles.
Both boxers share bad blood between them, which got worse in their last meeting in a press conference. Alvarez had pushed Plant and got a hand to his specs, which bruised Plant’s skin below the right eye.
On November 20, welterweight champ Terence Crawford will make his long-awaited return to fight Shawn Porter.
The Vasiliy Lomachenko versus Richard Commey super fight is also booked for December 11 at the Madison Square Garden.
Last but not least, unbeaten and undisputed light-welterweight champion Josh Taylor will face Jack Catterall on December 18. The champ just beat Jose Ramirez to add the WBC and WBO belts to his collection.
