Five Fighters Leave The UFC, Including A Bantamweight Prospect
A handful of fighters are no longer with the UFC.
Among them is Thomas Almeida who was one of the bantamweights considered as the future star. The list also includes Emily Whitmire, Mike Rodriguez, Antonio Arroyo and Sarah Alpar.
Almeida signed in the UFC as an undefeated fighter with 17 victories and no defeat. Since he signed in the UFC, he earned four wins in a row and three via KO.
Fans thought he would be a champion one day, but Cody Garbrandt served him his first-ever loss at UFC Fight Night 88 with a brutal KO in the first round. After that, he earned only one victory against Albert Morales but suffered four losses against Jimmie Rivera, Rob Font, Jonathan Martinez and Sean O’Malley.

It is unclear if he decided to leave, UFC cut him or the contract ended.
Whitmire has been a member of the UFC since 2017. She fought six times but earned only two victories. After suffering defeat in her debut, she made two victories in a row against Jamie Moyle and Aleksandra Albu, but she is on a three-fight losing streak.
She had the last opportunity against Hannah Goldy just a few weeks ago and suffered a first-round submission loss. Her professional MMA record is 4-5, and she sustained all five losses via submissions.
Rodriguez was considered as something too in the UFC.
In the UFC, he earned two victories, both via brutal TKO/KO. However, he got unlucky in a fight with Ed Herman. He finished Herman with a knee to the body, but the referee considered it an illegal groin strike. After that, Herman had five minutes to recover, and he earned a third-round submission victory in that bout.
Since that loss, Rodriguez suffered two more losses in a row against Danilo Marques via submission and Tafon Nchukwi via unanimous decision.
His professional MMA record is 11-7, and in the UFC, he earned a record 2-5-0-1.
Arroyo suffered his third loss in a row in the UFC.
The last time he fought was against Joaquin Buckley. Arroyo won the rounds and even served Buckley severe damage on the face, but Buckley managed and finished him in the third-round via brutal knockout. He also suffered losses against Andre Muniz and Deron Winn. His professional MMA record is 9-5-0, and in the UFC, his record is 0-3.
Alpar, a former LFA champion, is out from the UFC after suffering two losses in a row in the UFC.
She suffered a defeat against Jessica-Rose Clark in September of 2020, and one year later, she suffered another loss against Erin Blanchfield. Her professional MMA record is 9-6, but in the UFC, she earned zero victories and two defeats.
